GERRINGONG HOUSE
Location Gerringong, NSW
Located in a headland estate overlooking the ocean in Gerringong, NSW, this coastal residence was designed as a family holiday home. The brief called for a generous and relaxed layout that would maximise ocean views and provide functional zones for gathering, retreat, and play.
The design responds directly to the steeply sloping site, with a split-level configuration that steps down the hill and ensures the home remains within height controls—never exceeding two storeys at any point. The site’s planning controls also required five distinct external materials, which we approached as an opportunity to create a rich and cohesive material palette across the façade.
Living areas and the master suite are oriented to capture uninterrupted coastal views, while a central courtyard and pool offer a private, sheltered outdoor space at the heart of the home.
