Overview Adaptive Reuse and Heritage Alterations Jakaan Architects was engaged to prepare a design response for alterations and additions to the McKee House, a mid-20th century dwelling located at 99 Paterson Road, Springwood. The project responds to the property’s heritage significance while improving the home's liveability and functionality for contemporary use.
The scope of works includes internal modifications to the existing layout, sensitive rear additions, and upgrades to services, all designed to retain the core architectural character of the original residence. The additions have been carefully sited and scaled to ensure minimal visual impact from the street and to maintain the aesthetic cohesion of the site.
Throughout the design, we worked within the guidelines set by the Blue Mountains LEP and DCP, ensuring that our approach respected the original building’s modest form, materiality, and contribution to the Paterson Road streetscape.
