Following the successful completion of several industrial warehouse developments in the Botany area, Jakaan Architects was approached by Nutrisoy to design and document a large industrial warehouse as part of their soy bean processing factory expansion. The project involved the construction and strata subdivision of four industrial units with mezzanines, specifically designed for the processing, packaging, and storage of soy bean products.
The primary unit was a key component of the expansion, featuring a dedicated packaging area, a cool room, and freezer unit and large storage area. The storage area was equipped with 6-meter high racking to accommodate 2-ton pallets of soy bean products, allowing for efficient and high-capacity storage. The facility was carefully designed to meet the stringent requirements of food processing, including the installation of industrial-grade refrigeration systems and pre-installed floor waste and service connections necessary for future food handling and production activities.
The design also focused on flexibility and adaptability. The three smaller units were created with commercial leasing in mind, offering modular industrial warehouse spaces that Nutrisoy could lease to other businesses until they were needed for future expansion. This forward-thinking approach helped make the warehouse expansion both financially viable and operationally efficient, balancing immediate leasing opportunities with long-term business growth.
This project exemplified Jakaan Architects' ability to deliver tailored industrial design solutions that integrate food processing standards, warehouse functionality, and strategic planning to meet the operational needs of growing businesses.
