Jakaan Architects was approached by a developer to revitalize and enhance an existing DA-approved development in Port Macquarie, based on our expertise in securing approvals for other complex apartment projects in the region. With the original DA close to lapsing, our team was engaged to redesign the building, modernize it to align with market expectations, and increase the apartment yield to maximize the site's potential. Our scope included a full redesign of the exterior architecture, interior layouts, and comprehensive documentation for construction.
This project was located adjacent to Town Beach with its stunning ocean views and a prime beachfront location, the site offered the perfect opportunity to create a high-end residential and mixed-use development. The redesign followed SEPP 65 design guidelines, focusing on optimizing natural light, ventilation, and modern living standards, all while preserving the site's due east orientation to maximize sunlight and ocean breezes.
While Jakaan Architects fully documented the project for construction, the developer ultimately decided to sell the site before proceeding with construction. Our detailed documentation ensured the project was ready for construction, adding significant value to the site for future developers.
